Jennifer Adam
St Catherine University Visual Resources Curator
Saint Paul, MN
As Visual Resources Curator for the Art and Art History Department at St. Catherine University, my duties include serving as collection registrar; overseeing the digitization of the fine art collection; conducting the campus art loan program; photographing the collection and writing metadata; and grant writing. Recent accomplishments include curating art for a large segment of St. Kate's campus as part of the campus integration effort, writing and leading a walking tour of newly installed artwork in the Humanities Department, designing a concrete pedestal for an outdoor sculpture installed permanently on campus, overseeing and implementing a collection management policy and all associated paperwork, and curating the exhibit “Look at this, and look again, and see anew” that highlighted works created by student artists in the 1950s under the tutelage of famed print artist Sister Corita Kent. I also am an artist and illustrator and teach Fashion Illustration and Portfolio Development and Topics: Computer Aided Design and Development for the Apparel, Merchandising and Design Department at St. Catherine University. I earned a B.A. in Political Science with a Studio Art minor from the St. Catherine University in 1992 and a Master’s degree in Art History, from the University of St. Thomas in 2006.
Things that are good to talk to me about: working with CONTENTdm and FileMakerPro, digitizing artwork, collection management policy, fashion illustration, and general design and art ideas and issues.
